Our Process: Pre-construction Planning Sets Us Apart

Pre-construction is the planning and design phase of a construction project. It includes activities such as scope creation, design development, budgeting, and permitting.  The pre-construction phase is a critical step in setting expectations and ensuring the success of the project. We work closely with our clients to ensure that all necessary steps are taken so that the project is completed on time and within budget.

The benefits of a pre-construction agreement include:

  • Clarity - A pre-construction agreement defines the scope of work, the responsibilities of each party, and the timeline for completion, which can help prevent misunderstandings and disputes.

  • Cost savings - A pre-construction agreement can help establish a budget and set a fixed price for the project, barring any unforeseen circumstances, conditions, or change orders outside of the scope of work, which can help prevent cost overruns and unexpected expenses.

  • Risk management - A pre-construction agreement can help identify potential risks and allocate responsibility for those risks, which can help mitigate the impact of any unforeseen issues.

  • Schedule certainty - A pre-construction agreement helps establish a schedule for the project and set milestones for payment and completion. This helps ensure that the project is completed on time and within budget.

  • Legal protection - A pre-construction agreement can provide legal protection for both the contractor and the owner by setting out the terms and conditions of the project in writing.

Once the pre-construction phase is complete, the project can move into the construction phase, where the plans and designs developed during pre-construction will be implemented.
